F.A.Q.
We know that purchasing a pool cover often comes with many questions. That’s why we’ve gathered here the most frequently asked questions about the Coverseal, its installation, maintenance, and much more.
You’ll find them below, organized by topic or accessible through the quick search.
General
Yes, our Product is designed with the highest safety standards in mind. Nevertheless, it is a safety cover and not a playground. We therefore strongly advise against letting children, adults or animals walk on the membrane, use it as a trampoline or use the trim as a diving board at the risk of damaging it.
-
Check the power supply: open the side hatch and check that the power connectors (the black cables) are properly seated: from the solar panel (lower cable) and the battery (upper cable). If the cover remains undetectable in the app or if it does not move, proceed to the next step.
-
Reinstall the mobile app: reinstall the mobile app: delete it and then install it again. When opening for the first time, remember to allow access to Bluetooth. Ensure that only one phone is connected to the cover and finally connect close to it. It is possible that your cover requires an update. In that case, a banner will appear directly in the app. A restart of the board may be necessary; to do this, simply unplug then plug back in the cover’s power cables.Refer to the attached video.
-
Test without the solar power supply: unplug the cable from the solar panel (lower black cable). Then try with the wired control or the Open/Close buttons: if the buzzer remains silent, it is probably the fuse (proceed to step 4). If the buzzer sounds but the cover remains still or jerky, it is probably the battery.
-
Replace the fuse:Fuse version 1: disconnect the two black cables, open the electronic box with a small screwdriver and replace the fuse with the supplied 20A fuse (inside the box). Reconnect, test the cover over 1 m with the buttons or wired control, then reconnect via the app if everything works. Reconnect and test.Fuse version 2: open the side hatch and disconnect the two black power cables. First check the battery fuse (at the bottom) and replace it if damaged. Reconnect and test. If the problem persists, check the motor fuse (at the top), replace it, if necessary, then reconnect the cables and restart the application. If the problem still persists after all these steps, contact your Installer.
There are 2 types of rails, namely standard rails and all-surface rails. In most cases, the standard rails are installed. Their 36 mm wide by 10 mm high profile has been specially designed to remain discreet and integrate harmoniously with the pool environment. However, there is another type of rail, namely the all-terrain rail, that can be adapted to supports that lack density or flatness. In addition, the rails are never empty: the belt is always integrated, guaranteeing maximum safety and avoiding any risk of unpleasant contact.
The photovoltaic panel(s) remain efficient regardless of weather conditions. However, in countries where the brightness is particularly low or limited during the day, especially on short days in Scandinavia, it is possible to install an additional panel to guarantee perfect autonomy. At Coverseal, we are convinced that the climate must never compromise the use, safety or protection of your pool.
Coverseal is a bespoke 4-season pool cover, designed to provide optimal and long-lasting protection for your pool. Combining technology, design and ease of use, it guarantees clean and preserved water throughout the year, while enhancing your outdoor space. A high-end product that combines safety, aesthetics and everyday comfort.
The expected life of the batteries on the Automatic and Semi-Automatic models is about 4 to 6 years under normal conditions of use. However, during exceptional weather conditions (very high or very low temperatures), the service life of these batteries may be degraded. For Automatic models equipped with a winterization switch (previous version to 2025), it is important not to forget to set it to “off” from 1 September to 1 May. During this period, as there is insufficient sunlight, the batteries could then fall into deep discharge and they would have to be replaced.
Unfortunately, too many factors are taken into account to establish an accurate theoretical calculation of the insulation value of the Coverseal (delta T°, air mass trapped under the membrane, wind, rain, etc.). Therefore, it is not possible to quantify it, but the Coverseal ensures an almost perfect seal, blocking almost all evaporation. This significantly reduces heat loss, which leads to real energy savings and limits the need for water filling, for more sustainable and economical management of your pool.
The Coverseal, on the other hand, is a four-season system that provides optimal protection all year round. Thanks to its tensioned membrane stretched over the water, it prevents leaves, dust, and other debris from contaminating the pool, limits photosynthesis, and preserves water quality. It also helps retain accumulated heat and enhances the safety of your swimming area.
In other words, while a winter cover plays a temporary role, the Coverseal combines design, performance, and durability throughout the entire year.
Practical questions
Yes, by reducing the intensity of the spray and using a neutral pH soap. Special attention should be paid to rails where regular cleaning is essential to ensure the performance and longevity of your cover. For the trim, we recommend using a microfiber cloth to preserve its appearance and durability.
The membrane that strongly limits photosynthesis and prevents leaves from falling into your pool should keep you from having to resort to shock treatments to purify your pool water. Nevertheless, under exceptional circumstances, this type of treatment may be considered. However, it is strongly recommended to keep the Coverseal open for 24 to 48 hours, to avoid any excessive concentration of chemicals that could damage the membrane.
No. Repeated shocks or excessive pressure may cause deformation of the trim or damage to the mechanics. Such damage is not covered by the warranty.
For the membrane
We recommend cleaning it at least twice a year, depending on the pool’s environment (trees, sand, soil, urban pollution, etc.).
In any case, cleaning should be carried out before the first opening and restart of the pool.
The cover must be completely closed and locked before cleaning.
Ideally, use a soft brush and a domestic low-pressure washer, with pressure limited to 80 bar.
Only use cleaning products with a neutral pH.
For the casing
The casings made of galvanised steel or aluminium are powder-coated.
For cleaning, use only a microfiber cloth, clean water, and, if necessary, a neutral pH soap. For mirror or metal effect finishes, a monthly cleaning is recommended.
Remove any dirt from top to bottom using a low-pressure water jet.
Apply a mild, alcohol- and ammonia-free cleaner with a lint-free microfiber cloth, using straight, linear movements.
Circular motions are strictly prohibited, as they may cause streaks.
Rinse the surface with clean water and dry immediately with a soft cloth to preserve its shine.
Essential technical maintenance
Regular and careful cleaning of the rails and locking mechanisms located beneath the casing helps extend the lifespan of your cover.
Start by removing dirt (sand, leaves, branches, soil, etc.) using a vacuum or blower.
If necessary, follow with a gentle water jet, ensuring that debris does not accumulate at the rail ends.
To clean the inside of the rails, lift the belt (black strip) while the cover is rolled up (pool open).
A pressure washer may be used; once done, reposition the belt correctly.
For automatic models
Regular cleaning of the solar panels helps extend the battery lifespan.
Use only a microfiber cloth and clean water.

Customer Service
Yes. If you notice any malfunction or unusual visual aspect (abnormal noise, irregular movement, abnormal membrane tension, etc.), we recommend that you stop operating your Coverseal. In this case, please contact us as soon as possible and send us photos and/or videos of the issue. This will allow us to quickly analyse the situation and provide you with an appropriate solution.
First, make sure nothing is blocking the proper operation of your Coverseal (object, tree branch, dirt) and that the required water level is maintained. Then follow the steps below:
Automatic model (with one or two solar panels)
1° On earlier versions, check that the winter switch inside the casing is set to ON before using the remote control. It’s also possible that the transmitter battery is dead (easily replaceable).
2° After confirming that the switch is ON and that the transmitter battery is still working, press both buttons on the wired controller at the same time.
3° If the problem persists, your battery is most likely discharged. First, use the manual operation to secure your pool.
Semi-automatic model
1° Check that the remote control battery is fully charged.
2° If the problem persists, your main battery is probably discharged. You can use the manual operation to secure your pool.
